More Democratic Fear Mongering

The Democrats new midterm strategy is to link the RNC with the "fringe tea party." What the DNC doesn't understand is that the tea party movement fully makes up about 26% of the electorate, well whatever I don't think that their strategy is going to work. They want to tie the tea party Contract from America with the Republican platform.

Anyway I wanted to post the Democratic interpretation of the contract from America compared to the official version of the contract.

Original contract

1. Protect the Constitution

Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does. (82.03%)

2. Reject Cap & Trade

Stop costly new regulations that would increase unemployment, raise consumer prices, and weaken the nation’s global competitiveness with virtually no impact on global temperatures. (72.20%)

3. Demand a Balanced Budget

Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax hike. (69.69%)

4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform

Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words—the length of the original Constitution. (64.90%)

5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington

Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities, or ripe for wholesale reform or elimination due to our efforts to restore limited government consistent with the US Constitution’s meaning. (63.37%)

6. End Runaway Government Spending

Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth. (56.57%)

7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care

Defund, repeal and replace the recently passed government-run health care with a system that actually makes health care and insurance more affordable by enabling a competitive, open, and transparent free-market health care and health insurance system that isn’t restricted by state boundaries. (56.39%)

8. Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy

Authorize the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation, lowering prices and creating competition and jobs. (55.51%)

9. Stop the Pork

Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark. (55.47%)

10. Stop the Tax Hikes

Permanently repeal all tax hikes, including those to the income, capital gains, and death taxes, currently scheduled to begin in 2011. (53.38%)

Democrat Version

1. Repeal the Affordable Care Act (Health Insurance Reform)
Put insurance companies back in charge, repeal tax credits for small businesses, allow insurance companies to deny coverage based on preexisting conditions and to drop coverage when a person gets too sick and make prescription drugs for seniors less affordable.

2. Privatize Social Security or phase it out altogether
Turn the guaranteed retirement benefits of America's seniors over to Wall Street CEOs by putting Social Security at risk in the stock market or, as some Republicans have called for, phase out Social Security altogether and end a program millions of American seniors rely on for their survival.

3. End Medicare as it presently exists
Phase out and end Medicare as it presently exists for future generations of seniors -- ending Medicare's guaranteed healthcare benefits for more than 40 million American seniors -- and replace it with a voucher system which will result in higher premiums and fewer services for seniors.

4. Extend the Bush tax breaks for the wealthy and big oil
At a cost of nearly $700 billion, extend the Bush tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans and big oil, which are set to expire and which have and will continue to explode the federal budget deficit.

5. Repeal Wall Street Reform
Roll back the toughest consumer protections ever enacted, allow banks to continue to grow too big to fail, and ensure that predatory lenders continue to utilize their most abusive practices.

6. Protect those responsible for the oil spill and future environmental catastrophes
Cap liabilities for those responsible for environmental disasters like the Gulf oil spill and let companies like BP decide which victims deserve compensation for the disaster and what the timeline for relief should be.

7. Abolish the Department of Education
Put the big banks back in charge of student loans and put an end to federal assistance for public schools.

8. Abolish the Department of Energy
End America's investments in a clean-energy future and disband the organization responsible for oversight of nuclear materials.

9. Abolish the Environmental Protection Agency
Gut the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act -- which together protect our kids from air pollution and keep drinking water safe -- and disband the watchdog that holds polluters accountable.

10. Repeal the 17th Amendment
Take away your right to pick your U.S. Senator.

So either the Democrats can't read or they are intentionally lying, which I believe it is the latter. They somehow forgot to make a point of the whole balanced budget thing, protecting the constitution thing. No biggee though! They can just through in a couple of points and pretend that everything is perfectly fine.

The lies and misleadings are so blatant that it makes me want to vomit. Democrats! you claim to be for the people, this contract was created by the people. Anyone could have voted including you! Why are you criticizing a genuine grass roots document? You say that the Republicans are the master fear mongers, what do you call this?

Mexico to Patrol Staten Island?

Sort of. Drudge had a title up very similar to that headline. Apparently since April there have been six violent attacks on Mexicans, the latest incident happening just earlier this week. The man was walking home from a soccer match when he was attacked by a group yelling racial epithets at him. He is now in the hospital.

So Mexico is posting "personnel" on Staten Island to help protect their citizens. Now I'm not exactly sure what that means. But, if it means policing Staten Island then that can not happen. It was to much for me to hear Calderon come up to America and tell us about our Constitution and our Federalism. Just because money sent back to Mexico is in the top three for money makers in Mexico doesn't give you the right to tell us about states rights.

Anyway, this racial attacks are not acceptable and I hope that the police are able to stop whoever is behind this.

The Tea Party is Coming to Town

A Democratic leaning polling institution released some statistics recently about the tea party bloc. As reported by Wall Street Journal, Public Policy Polling found out that the tea party bloc will make up to 26% of the electorate this year, and that they favor Republicans 57-19. Some more statistics

  • 44% identify themselves as Republicans
  • 34% identify themselves as Independents
  • 21% identify themselves as Democrats
  • Only 35% call themselves tea party members
I am surprised at the high number of Democrats in the tea party movement. I suppose that these would most likely by Reagan Democrats. This poll should give tea party supporters great hope though. We will literally be the deciding factor in many races. Let's hope we can unify behind good candidates instead of running third party campaigns.

More Ahmadenijad!

Ahmadenijad just can't keep himself out of the international news. This time he has become Paul the Octopus and predicted that the US will strike two Middle East countries within the next three month. Apparently he's got really good intelligence that informed him of this, turns out the informant was a Gazelle since Octopii are in short supply in his neck of the woods.

"They have decided to attack at least two countries in the region in the next three months," Ahmadinejad said in excerpts broadcast on the rolling news channel on Tuesday.

"The logic that they can persuade us to negotiate through sanctions is just a failure," Ahmadinejad said.

Good point Ahmadinejad, maybe thats why your informant is telling you that we are through negotiating via sanctions.

Mahmoud vs. Paul the Octopus

Iranian leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has deemed Paul the Octopus worth of his scorn. In case you don't remember (or don't watch soccer), Paul the Octopus is the soccer match predictor. Paul correctly picked the winner in 8 different games in a row. Being from Germany he chose his home team to win their first seven games, only to choose them to loose in the finals. Paul became a worldwide sensation with his ability to predict the winner of the matches.

Mahmoud stated:

Paul was mentioned by Ahmadinejad on various occasions during a speech pronounced today [Saturday] in which he cited the octopus as an example of “methods of propaganda and superstitions” on the West. […]

“Those who believe in this type of thing cannot be the leaders of the global nations that aspire, like Iran, to human perfection, basing themselves in the love of all sacred values,” Ahmadinejad said.

Poor Paul, why does the bully have to pick on you :(

Typical Dean calls Fox News racist

What are we to expect from liberals? If you oppose Obama or one of his cronies you are a racist.
