GOP=Tea Party a sign of desperation of Democrats

RSLC Chairman Ed Gillespie was asked about the Democrats strategy of tying the GOP with the tea parties Contract from America. We have already seen how deceitful the Democrat's version of the Contract from America was written (what can you expect?).

Gillespie notes that it is a sign of desperation that the Democrats are announcing the midterm strategy already:

"They usually wait until October to start telling voters that Republicans are going to eliminate Social Security and Medicare. It is a sign of their desperation that they have started that in July this year,” Gillespie said.

If the Democrats main strategy is to tie the Republicans with the most popular grass root movement in years, then bring it on. People are tired of the deceit the Democrat spread, people are tired of deficit spending, they wanted change in 2008 and they got change for the worse. Anyway I agree with Gillespie, I think that the GOP will be pleased to have to deal with the tea party "problem."

The Tea Party is Coming to Town

A Democratic leaning polling institution released some statistics recently about the tea party bloc. As reported by Wall Street Journal, Public Policy Polling found out that the tea party bloc will make up to 26% of the electorate this year, and that they favor Republicans 57-19. Some more statistics

  • 44% identify themselves as Republicans
  • 34% identify themselves as Independents
  • 21% identify themselves as Democrats
  • Only 35% call themselves tea party members
I am surprised at the high number of Democrats in the tea party movement. I suppose that these would most likely by Reagan Democrats. This poll should give tea party supporters great hope though. We will literally be the deciding factor in many races. Let's hope we can unify behind good candidates instead of running third party campaigns.

Roseanne Barr claims that Republicans are Pedophilers

News Busters reported on a Roseanne blog entry where she writes about KP Bath, a children's author who was just sentenced to six years in prison:

Barr posted a mug shot of Bath and wrote that he was "a typical republican who loves reagan and palin and despises the 'nanny state' and socialism."

"[K. P. Bath] cherishes the freedom to have sex with small children, as all [R]epublicans do," Barr continued. She then added, in parentheses, "just kidding, sort of."

Really? Just kidding, sort of? How does she know Bath is Republican? What proof does she have the all Republicans cherish what she claims they cherish? If the Republican party is the party of no, then the Democratic party is definitely the party of hate. This sort of thing is irresponsible and wrong. Shame on you Roseanne Barr.

Taking Back the House

Gerald Seib of the Wall Street Journal asks an important question:

Here are two big questions hovering over this year’s congressional elections: How radical is the mood out there, and do Republicans have a real chance of taking back control of the U.S. Senate?

There is really only one important question here. The first one is just a mere echo of the MSM, we all know that the tea party is not radical for holding traditional values.

The second question though poses an interesting question. There are essentially four tea party candidates running for the Senate this fall. Will Republicans take back control of the Senate? The answer is simply no. If the tea party candidates win, they will support the Republicans on most issues, but they will not be beholden to them. On the other hand, of the Democrats win, they will not have control either. In neither of the scenarios do Republicans gain control of the senate. And I think that is a good thing. What do you think?
