Sen. Orrin Hatch says that Tea party members are causing the GOP to lose

In a townhall meeting in American Fork Utah, Senator Orrin Hatch said that the tea party movement is responsible for causing GOP candidates to lose elections.

Sen. Orrin Hatch has a message for the Tea Party movement: Work with the GOP or see conservatives lose more ground.

"If we fractionalize the Republican Party, we are going to see more liberals elected," Hatch warned a crowd of 300 at a town meeting at American Fork Junior High School on Wednesday night, amid jeers from Tea Party supporters.

Hatch blamed extreme conservatives for the 2008 defeat of Sen. Gordon Smith, a politically moderate but fiscally conservative Republican from Oregon.

What Sen. Hatch doesn't understand is that we are not interested in electing so called conservative republicans who will just vote as any liberal democrat would vote! We want candidates who will support our cause, carry our banner, and limit the size of government. If that means a Republican here and there loses then so be it. Perhaps Karl Rove should have a little talk with Sen. Hatch when he advised the tea party movement to remain independent of either party.
