Astroturf'd?

Stephen Crockett for oped news, opined recently that the tea party movement is full of contradictions. Among these contradictions (of which I only read one), is that some Republican told a PBS anchorman that the tea party movement is "not Republican, right wing, or racist."

OK so I can kind of agree with that broad generalization, however I do think that the tea party movement is more right wing than left wing. Stephen Crockett though in his omniscience stated that in fact the tea party movement was directly under the Republican corporatist control.

Whoah! This is starting to sound a little to Marxist for me, I guess I will have to wander into to wonderland for a moment though to sort through his assertions. Says Crockett:

Anyone who really watched the development of the Tea Party movement, as part of the anti-healthcare reform effort, understands that it was a creation of Fox News and corporate funded Right Wing Republican operatives.

The genius behind the Tea Party campaign is that it is a corporate created public relations/political campaign designed to promote pro-corporate economic policies via government while calling the movement "anti-corporate and anti-government." The racism angle is a just a way to hook "poor and middle class whites" into an effort designed to economically benefit the wealthiest of the wealthy at the expense of "the poor and middle class of all colors."

Wow and people say that conservatives are the conspiracy theory nuts? I think that this would rank up there as bona fide conspiracy theory. Yes Fox News did cover the tea party movement, why? Because it was the first time since Vietnam that people got off their behinds to protest a government gone wrong. There was passion in these people, and no matter how much money you've got you can't buy someone's passion.

And yes the movement is pro-corporate, is that a bad thing? Supporting entities that create self sustaining jobs? The government can create jobs, but the employees are paid by the tax payers! That is not self sustaining, or fair. Mr. Crockett, you can continue in your wonderland, but when you come back down to reality you will realize how wrong you were.
